Liu Xiang is a Chinese national hero. He joined the Asian Games 2009 in Hong Kong. He got the first place in the 110m hurdles event on 11th December, 2009.
I was very happy with his performance. I think all Hong Kong citizens were also happy with his good result. Although he finished the event in 14.05 seconds that is 1.10 seconds more than the record he finished last month in the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix, his performance was cheered by the audiences.

A teacher post is available in my school. Many people apply for the job. They also fill in some job application forms. Admission cards are available for them to come for interviews. They are free of charge but they must show their examination results to the principal. The principal does not think they can give good teaching service. The principal says they may apply jobs in Children Protection Association. They are all happy with the suggestion.

Once upon a time, a father lived with his three sons. When the father died he left each son a special gift.
He left his farm to the eldest son. He left his donkey to his middle son. And he left his cat to the youngest son.
The youngest son said, “Puss, my brothers can earn money with their gifts. How can we earn some money?”
Puss said, “Master, give me some boots and a bag.”
So the boy gave Puss some boots and a bag. Puss put on the boots. Then he went out and caught a rabbit in his bag.
Puss took the rabbit to the King. “Here is a gift from my master,” said Puss.
“Who is your master?” said the King.
“The Marquis of Carrabas is my master,” said Puss.
Not long after, Puss went out with the bag again. This time he caught two partridges. Puss took the partridges to the king.
“There two partridges are a gift from my master, the Marquis of Carrabas,” said Puss.
“Thank you, Puss in Boots,” said the King. “I love to eat partridges.”
Soon after, Puss and his master were by a river. Puss saw the King’s carriage coming along the road. The King and the Princess were in the carriage.
“Master,” said Puss, take off your clothes and jump into the river.”
Then Puss ran to the carriage. “Help me,” said Puss. “My master is in the river, and his clothes have been stolen.
“We must help the Marquis of Carrabas,” said the King. So the King’s men helped the boy out of the river. Then the King said, “We must take you home.” And he put the boy into his carriage.
Puss ran along the road. He saw some men working.
“The King is coming,” he said. “You must tell him that the Marquis of Carrabas is your master.” When the King saw the men he said, “Who do you work for?”
“We work for the Marquis of Carrabas,” said the men. When the King had gone Puss said to the men, “Who lives in that castle?”
The men said, “Our master lives in that castle. He is an ogre.
Puss ran along the road and was soon at the castle. He knocked on the door. When the ogre came to the door, Puss said, “Can I come in?”
“Come in,” said the ogre. He wanted to eat Puss. Puss said, “Can ogres do magic?”
“Just watch!” said the ogre. And he changed into a lion. “Is that all the magic you can do?” said Puss. “Change into a mouse. Puss jumped on the mouse and ate it. Just then, there was a knock on the door. Hence Puss went to the door he saw the King, the Princess, and his master.
“This is my master’s castle,” said Puss.
Not long after, the princess and the boy fell in love and were soon married. The boy took the Princess to live his castle.
So, the boy, the Princess, the King and Puss in Boots all lived happily ever after.

Students do many different things in their spare time. Some of them read books and newspaper. Some work on arts. Also some like playing games and doing sports.
Firstly, some students like spending time reading stories and newspapers. It is fun and they can learn new things from reading.
Secondly, some work on arts, e.g. drama and drawing. Drama can train students to learn new skills. Drawing can help students draw and enjoy beautiful pictures.
Thirdly, some like playing games. Games can help them relax. They feel happy after playing games. Playing games is a good way to balance their study and play.
Lastly, some students like playing sports, e.g. tennis and swimming. Doing sports helps students get better health. They can also meet new friends when they play sports.
To sum up, I have talked about four different spare time activities that students like most. What activities do you like?

You are writing to a school newsletter. You want to suggest your school to buy more new computers and books for students to use in the library. You can start the letter by introducing yourself. Tell the reasons why the school should buy the computers and books.
Dear Editor,
I am a student of Class 5E. My name is Louis Li.
I would like to suggest our school to buy more new computers and books for us to use in the library.
I always see many students waiting for computers at recess and lunch time. I think we also need the computer to look for information for our project.
There are not many new books for us to borrow. We are not interested in reading the old story books. They are not colourful. They look boring. If our school buys more interesting storybooks , more students will enjoy reading books.
I hope our school will think about my suggestion and buy some new computers and books for us.

Playing computer games can help you relax, but it can mess up your life too!
There are only twenty four hours in a day. If you spend too much time on computer games, you won't have time to do other things. For example, you will have less time to do your revision or talk to your family. Also, sitting in front of the computer for hours can hurt your eyes.

4. What problems are there if we use the computer for too long? It can hurt our eyes. We will also have less time to do revision or talk to our family.
5. If you have a friend who uses the computer for six hours a day, what advice will you give him? I will tell him that it is not good to his eyes if he uses computer for a long time. I will also tell him not to play computer games. It will make his study become poor.
